Furuno launches the first radar for iPad or iPhone

A radar that allows you to turn your iPhone or iPad into a radar screen... Furuno has done it!

First of all, it is a real radome of 49 cm in diameter that will have to be installed on top of its mast or on a pole, connected by a single cable, a power supply of 12 or 24v.

The DRS4W is an evolution of the Furuno DRS4D radome. A WiFi module has been integrated instead of a traditional connector, which allows the radar to communicate wirelessly, on its own WiFi network. Today, only an application for iOS is available: DRS4W . Users in the PC or Android world will have to wait.

With the application, you have a full touch interface with zoom and pan to view the Radar image anywhere on the boat. It is even possible to connect up to two tablets simultaneously.
