Three French winners win the 2014 Euronaval Trophies

The 3 winners of the 4th edition of the Euronaval Trophies received their awards from Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Defense. The ceremony took place during the official opening of the exhibition.

The three award-winning companies are French SMEs with international reach that have particularly distinguished themselves this year in innovation and export performance. Patrick Boissier, the show's president, opened the awards ceremony with a speech: "Keeping abreast of the latest technological developments, Euronaval is constantly evolving and is enriched with each new edition of technical innovations that carry the future and the development of the global naval industry."

These three winners were chosen by a jury composed of a journalist from IHS, industrialists, representatives from the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, the General Directorate of Armaments, the Research and Innovation Orientation Council for Shipbuilding and Ship Activities, etc.

In the Innovation category, two companies were awarded

First of all, iXBlue was awarded the Innovation Trophy for Future Defense Ship Technologies and Equipment for the development of the new "Marins M7" inertial unit. This system offers performance that will extend the operational capabilities of first-rate ships and submarines. This French industrial group specializes in the design, technology development and manufacturing of equipment and systems for navigation and surveillance, underwater positioning, communications, underwater imaging, oceanographic measurements, underwater exploration and the space industry.

SUBSEA TECH received the Innovation in Maritime Security award for its CAT-Surveyvor project, an autonomous system for the detection and automatic classification of underwater targets in harbours, coastal areas and inland waters. This engineering company is specialized in marine and underwater technologies.

In the Transportation category, one company was awarded

The company AUTOMATIC SEA VISION won the Export Performance Trophy for French SMEs and ETIs, for its commercial action abroad between 2012 and 2014. The company has developed in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and the Middle East going from 3 to 8 Export countries and from 5 to 20 foreign business partners. In June 2014, an office was opened in the Asia Pacific sector based in Kuala Lampur.
