Claude Harlé died in La Rochelle after a long illness at the age of 81.

Phillipe Harlé passed away in 1991 at the age of 70, but Claude, his wife, watched over the fabulous heritage left to generations of sailors who first sailed on a boat named after a wine or an alcohol.

Since their meeting at the Glénans school, Claude Harlé has accompanied her husband throughout his career as a naval architect. She lived on the sea, cruising around the Atlantic. A regatta sailor, she competed aboard her Muscadet Juliénas and participated in the 1987 Mini-Transat. Involved in both sport and educational sailing, Claude Harlé, a national sailing judge, was a member of the Olympic Committee and received the gold medal from the French Sailing Federation.
