The Muscadet Owners Association aims to bring together Muscadet owners to sail together in a friendly atmosphere. It organizes many regattas.

A class association invested

Other models built by Philippe Harlé, such as Cognac or Armagnac, have no equivalent with muscadet at the level of their class association. " This class association saves the boat, makes it alive... Every year we organize events, we are present at the Nautic de Paris . We unite the public and the owners of Muscadet." explains Franck Joly.

Numerous regattas and a national competition in Lorient

Each year, the APM organizes the national competition of the Muscadets, in Lorient during 4 days, from July 10 to 14 "In total, we organize a dozen races, on 6 built courses and 6 courses in the water." On average, 240 people and 60 boats register each year. To participate, you must of course be registered with the APM.

To recall the origins of Muscadet, a project is under development within the association. "As this boat made the mini-transats, the idea is to set up a vintage mini-transat."

A 50 th anniversary reported by all

For the sailboat's 50th anniversary, a big mass was organised in September 2013, bringing together 90 boats and 80 big skippers, on the Lorient submarine base, for a weekend "Only Muscadet could give birth to an event of this magnitude." This event, created on the initiative of Jean Cordier, former president of the association and Franck Joly, treasurer, aroused a communicative enthusiasm. " While we were counting on the presence of 50 boats, that's almost double what we had. We had a meal for 600 people, and the skippers all answered the call!" Indeed, many skippers have started on what could be described as"4 L of the seas". " Jourdain, Van Den Heede, from Broc... all made mini-transats on Muscadet! It's a mythical boat!"

On the Nautic in Paris, in 2013, a Muscadet was displayed in a large plastic bottle 14 metres long "In all, 276,000 visitors passed by. "In Saint-Malo, for the Route du Rhum, Muscadet was again exhibited in its large bottle. An exceptional cover when you know that 2 million visitors have gathered on the pontoons! "You could hear,"Look, it's a Muscadet, drawn by Philippe Harlé!"

An elegance contest organized each year

The Muscadet is a wooden boat and can therefore easily be customized "We see extraordinary paintings." This creativity gives the association the opportunity to create an elegance contest of Muscadet, in order to elect the most beautiful boat of the year "It is then presented on the Nautic de Paris" . Even if the boat is no longer manufactured, it's an opportunity to get together, to meet the boat's aficionados, but also some great skippers "For 50 years, some great skippers have been interested in Muscadet and are starting to buy it. It will allow the class to evolve and gain notoriety."
