In Saint-Tropez, Les Voiles remains one of the major events for classic and modern sailing in the Mediterranean. Every fall, several hundred boats and several thousand crew members gather in the gulf for a week of regattas. The 2026 edition is set to follow this tradition, though a few boats are particularly eagerly anticipated.
The Return of the J-Class as Headliners
The Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez (SNST), the event?s organizer, invites you to the 28th edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, taking place from September 26 to October 4, 2026. The three usual fleets will be participating: Modern, Tradition, and Maxis.

One of the highlights of the event is expected to be the return of the J-Class yachts. According to Pierre Roinson, president of the SNST, at least three of these former America?s Cup yachts are expected in the Gulf. They will share the spotlight with the three-masted schooner Atlantic, which was already present in 2025 and has been announced again this year.
However, managing these large vessels in the harbor will require some trade-offs. The port of Saint-Tropez has limited space for sailboats with a draft of more than 5 meters. More than 250 registration requests had already been received by mid-June 2026.
A week of regattas and several birthdays
The initial registration procedures will take place on September 26 and 27, 2026. The regattas will begin on September 28 for the Maxis and Moderns, with the Classics joining the competition the following day.
The program includes the Rolex Trophy, the Club 55 Cup, the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenarians Trophy, and the Edmond de Rothschild Trophy for Maxis. The awards ceremonies are scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026.
This edition will also coincide with several anniversaries: the 20th anniversary of the partnership between Les Voiles and Rolex, the 100th anniversary of the International Mediterranean Committee, and the 150th anniversary of the Edmond de Rothschild family?s commitment to sailing through the Gitana lineage.
Nearly 3,500 staff members are expected to participate throughout the event.
