By crossing the line first in Fort-de-France after 11 days and 19 hours at sea, the tandem gave Charal 2 its first major victory, and a moment of truth for itself. Beyou returns to transatlantic success, Lagravière signs an historic treble on the event. A clear, precise and well-deserved victory.

A story of consistency

It's not a feat that came out of the blue. Jérémie Beyou, a central figure on the IMOCA scene for over a decade, had been racking up podium finishes without ever really holding the top spot in recent years. By dint of consistency, total commitment and resilience, he forged the foundations for this victory. There's been no shortage of trials and tribulations: breakdowns, retirements, the frustration of never achieving anything. But this Transat Café L'Or 2025 brings a cycle to an end, and ushers in a new era.

A tandem with a bang

The arrival of Morgan Lagravière aboard Charal 2 changed all that. A sharp technician and an intuitive sailor, Morgan brought his eye, his high standards and his calm. The division of roles was clear: Jérémie in charge of strategic decisions, Morgan in charge of pure performance. This complementarity gave rise to a rare dynamic. Together, they built a flawless victory, methodically prepared and authoritatively validated during the race.

The tactical turning point

The race shifted into the trade winds. After regrouping in the Canaries zone, Jérémie and Morgan were the first to shift westward, finding a fast corridor that gave them the lead. From then on, they held on, despite the pressure from Macif Santé Prévoyance, despite the fatigue, despite what was at stake. They knew how to manage, anticipate and lock in the race. The duo not only won, they dominated.

A victory for the team

Charal 2, the Manuard design launched in 2023, is not an easy boat to tame. It took months of fine-tuning, adjustments and technical choices to bring her to her full potential. The victory is also that of the technical team, of collective investment and of a philosophy: that of a job well done, of the detail that makes the difference, of faith in the long term.

History is written

For Jérémie Beyou, this victory is as much a relief as a consecration. For Morgan Lagravière, it marks exceptional continuity: an unprecedented three consecutive victories in the Transat Café L'Or. Between them, they have written a score that will go down in the annals of ocean racing. And for Charal 2, it marks the birth of a new status: that of a boat capable of winning it all.
