Initially designed for professionals, some of Ledlenser's P Series flashlights have features compatible with marine use. Light output, waterproofing, autonomy, USB recharging, signaling functions and beam adaptability are just some of the criteria to be considered for on-board use.
Designed to withstand water and marine conditions
The P6R, P7R and P7R Signature models are particularly water-resistant. These lamps are designed to work even in wet conditions, an asset in the event of water splashes when sailing or working in the rain, or even to remain in the pocket of a wet foulies coat. Some versions feature removable colored lenses, including a red one for preserved night vision, and a green one to avoid spooking wildlife.
Hybrid power supply and on-board recharging

The Dual Power system allows power to be supplied either by rechargeable battery or by conventional batteries. This is the case with models such as the P5R Pro or P7R Pro. Recharging is via a USB-C port, identical to smartphone standards. This solution is suitable for most on-board 12 V installations, via converter or direct USB port. The P6R and P7R models are battery-powered only. Claimed autonomy ranges from a few hours in intensive mode to several days in eco mode.
Beam modulation and signaling functions

The Advanced Focus System adjusts the beam's concentration, switching from a wide beam to a focused one. A useful feature for on-board interventions or map reading without dazzling. The Select Ring mode, present on higher models, gives access to several intensity levels, lamp locking during transport, and SOS mode. The latter, included on the P7R Signature, enables the emission of an automatic emergency light signal in Morse code.
Three models recommended for nautical use
The P6R (?99.90), P7R (?119) and P7R Signature (?149) are the most relevant models for navigators. Powerful, USB-C rechargeable and water-resistant, they incorporate all the essential functions for use at sea. The Signature, in particular, stands out for its adaptive lenses and SOS mode. These models are equally suited to motorboats and sailboats.
