An extraordinary sailboat

The Deltania Mini doesn't fit into any classic category. Smaller than a solo dinghy, such as an ILCA or Fusion, its deck and roof give it the air of a miniature cruiser, with a vague resemblance to a Micro. Its light weight and lack of keel bring it closer to a dinghy, while its closed design gives it the look of a living space reduced to the extreme, where only the helmsman will find his place. This hybrid concept makes the boat as intriguing as it is versatile.

Easy launching but tricky access

Thanks to its featherweight of 50 kg, the Deltania Mini is easy to rig and launch, even from a simple slipway. However, boarding requires a certain amount of balance, especially if you don't have a pontoon available. Once aboard, the cockpit offers a particularly protected seating position and direct access to all controls.
Under sail: intuitive navigation

The Deltania Mini responds very well to loads, thanks to a below-deck tiller for precise, responsive control. The absence of winches is compensated for by the small sail area, which facilitates hand trimming. In a light 10-knot breeze, the yacht achieves close to 3.5 knots, a respectable performance for its size. However, in stronger winds, the installation of an optional ballasted centreboard (12 kg) and the use of storm sails may prove necessary to guarantee stability.
We sit and don't move

The Deltania Mini's cockpit is relatively comfortable to sit in, with a backrest 38 cm high and a seat width of 50 cm. All maneuvers are accessible while seated, recalling the phylosophy of the Mini-J, an old Olympic support. Nonetheless, the limited space restricts movement possibilities, and it's impossible to sit on the liston for effective abseiling.
An unbeatable price for guaranteed pleasure

With a base price of 4,999 euros, ready to sail, the Deltania Mini is in a price range with no real competitors, comparable to that of a new regatta Optimist. Compact, it can be transported in a van or on the roof of a car, making it extremely practical to store and move.
Only suitable for use on enclosed, protected waters, it is aimed at boaters looking for simplicity and maneuverability, while remaining a real object of curiosity on the water. With 70 units already sold, this micro-yacht has found its audience. Its unique design and attractive price make it an interesting alternative for those who want to sail without logistical constraints.
