The reBot 8: an electric motor for eco-friendly sailing in Menorca

Launched on August 8, 2024, the reBot 8 marks a new milestone for the reBot Yachts shipyard. This 8-meter, all-electric motorboat combines local tradition with technological innovation, aiming for sustainable and serene navigation.

Designed for eco-friendly cruising

With the reBot 8, reBot Yachts is positioning itself in the yachting market by promoting a more environmentally-friendly approach. Measuring 7.98 meters long and 2.97 meters wide, this boat is powered by two 15 kW pod electric motors. Cruising speed is 8 knots, with a possible top speed of 14 knots. Its 32.8 kWh battery system offers a range of 6 to 10 hours, corresponding to around 50 nautical miles, and can be upgraded with a range extender for added flexibility.

Integrated solar panels cover the electricity needs of onboard equipment. Designed to accommodate up to 10 passengers, the reBot 8 is an affordable model starting at ?95,000, aimed at customers who want to reduce their ecological footprint without sacrificing sailing pleasure.

A tribute to the maritime heritage of the Balearic Islands

In addition to its modern technical features, the reBot 8 draws its inspiration from Menorca's maritime tradition. The design of this model pays homage to the llaüt, a typical Balearic boat, well known for its elegant lines and robustness. By revisiting this classic silhouette with an electric motor and contemporary finishes, reBot Yachts is combining local history with a technological future.

The official launch took place on August 8, 2024 at Lazareto, in the port of Mahón, in the presence of 150 guests from the nautical and political spheres. The event underscored the shipyard's commitment to sustainable yachting and to the local community.

A vision of smooth, silent sailing

The reBot 8 embodies the "slow life" philosophy promoted by reBot Yachts. It offers a tranquil, relaxing cruising experience, with no engine noise or pollutant emissions. This concept is aimed at yachtsmen seeking to slow down the pace while enjoying a preserved marine environment.

With this model, reBot Yachts aims to meet a growing demand for more environmentally-friendly boats. In a rapidly changing market, this offer could well appeal to a public sensitive to ecological issues, while at the same time being part of a trend where performance is giving way to comfort and conviviality. The next step for the shipyard will be to accompany this launch with a series of demonstrations and partnerships designed to democratize this new approach to boating.
