Easy to transport, quick to assemble, the Guppy proves to be a lot of fun at the helm, and not just for children. What's more, it doesn't face much competition, because while other inflatable catamarans exist (mainly low-cost Chinese construction), most of them are a little bigger. These include the 4.07 m Happy Cat Evolution, the 4.20 m SmartKat and maybe the closest one, the 3.30 m Ducky 11. What's more, while the concept is the same, the execution is not at the same level.
A very competitive price
In terms of price, the Minicat Guppy comes in at around $4,000, making it very affordable. It's not the cheapest, however, as the Ducky 11 starts at $3,000. However, the Guppy's quality materials and solid structure more than justify its price.

Another interesting point is that the Minicat Guppy is delivered complete. In other words, there's no need to add accessories, just unpack, assemble and sail, whereas some competitors require a few extra accessories.
An addictive boat
Last but not least, Minicat is manufactured by a recognized brand based in the Czech Republic, in Europe, with numerous distributors around the world. In the event of a problem, you'll always have someone to turn to, which isn't the case with a Chinese brand where purchases are made online. The Minicat dealer can also provide a hands-on training session, which can be very useful for beginners.

At the end, this catamaran is certainly one of the best introductory models available, thanks to its stability, ease of sailing and the sensations it provides. Another advantage is that with an optional motor-chair, you can use the Minicat Guppy as a tender, without the mast, but with a small motor behind. Without doubt, the best toy ever!
Finally, the only problem with the Minicat Guppy is that it can quickly become addictive, and it's a safe bet that you'll soon be tempted to try the bigger models, i.e. the 420 or 460. Boats with a much larger sail area that are truly sporty.
