ActiveLook head-up glasses for seeing without stopping to see

Microoled integrates ActiveLook technology with the NMEAremote application, enabling sailors to receive navigation data in real time and in hands-free mode, readable directly in their glasses. The new model features photochromic lenses that darken according to light conditions. Connected to the on-board control unit, these glasses display information directly in the skipper's field of vision.

Microoled announces a pair of glasses with sailing displays. By integrating ActiveLook with the NMEAremote application, sailors can now access real-time navigation data without using their hands. This innovation promises to improve both performance and safety at sea.

No more screens, just glasses!

ActiveLook is a head-up display technology for connected glasses, combining low weight, low power consumption and long battery life. It enables skippers and crew to instantly receive data such as boat speed, wind direction and water depth, directly in their field of vision. This allows sailors to concentrate on essential maneuvers without diverting their attention from important tasks.

Adapting to changing light conditions

The new Engo 2 Photochromic goggles constantly adjust to changing light conditions. They go from full transparency (category 0) in low light conditions to a dark, protective tint (category 3) in bright sunlight. In this way, sailors can visualize their key information in real time, whether they need to adjust their settings, follow a course or find out about a stopwatch.

NMEAremote: the application at the heart of data

Developed by Zapfware, the NMEAremote application distributes comprehensive marine data from the boat's central data system to mobile screens (Apple only). With its ActiveLook compatibility, it adds a new dimension to the navigation experience. The most important information is displayed on smart glasses in heads-up mode, accessible by gesture recognition. This includes the countdown to the start, boat speed and wind angles during the race, as well as other customized dashboards for yachtsmen.

Requires a little adaptation

The integration of this technology offers numerous advantages for competitive sailors. Instant access to critical data without the use of hands enables greater responsiveness and better management of sails and trajectories. However, adopting this technology does require some adaptation on the part of users, particularly in terms of familiarization with the interface and gesture commands.

Technical specifications and price list

ActiveLook connected glasses offer up to 12 hours of continuous use and are among the lightest on the market, weighing just 36g. Compatible glasses are available on engoeywear.com from ?299.95 (?349.95 for the Photochromic model).
