Zodiac X10 CC: A 10-metre flagship that moves away from RIBs

Without completely betraying the semi-rigid principle, Zodiac is moving closer to rigid hulls with its new model, a 10-meter boat with a central console, the X10CC. The fruit of 3 years of R&D, the hull and layout are innovative.

Rigid floats and bulwarks

Born with inflatable boats, Zodiac quickly took the semi-rigid turn to become, at one time, a quasi-synonym. In 2024, the brand decided to break away from its traditional design, with a low hull and floats acting as bulwarks, to offer with its new model, the X10CC, a boat with a rigid bulwark, to which peripheral D-shaped floats are attached, a design already explored by a number of Italian manufacturers. The new 10-meter-long flagship model responds to customers' need for comfort and safety, thanks to its polyester bulwark and deep, more protective cockpit.

Habitability and comfort

Zodiac didn't want to abandon the float because the advantages are still considerable. Semi-rigid certification allows a maximum capacity of 20 people, compared with around ten passengers on a similar size boat. What's more, the float provides protection when maneuvering in port, and adds stability when cornering, with additional support.

A step hull to limit fuel consumption

Zodiac also boasts the performance of its new model, thanks to its double steps, a hull design more common on rigid hulls than RIBs. In addition to wave passage and a top speed of 60 knots, the Zodiac X10CC consumes up to 30% less fuel than a conventional C-hull, according to its manufacturer. With 2x400 horsepower, fuel consumption is claimed to be 3 liters per nautical mile. Fanny Revert, Zodiac Marketing Manager, explains: "We worked with the Finns at Navia, renowned for their hull designs, notably for Axopar. It was important for us, knowing that a 10-meter RIB would necessarily consume more than our smaller boats, to limit the impact as much as possible and explore solutions. It's more modern, flatter sailing than our traditional V hulls, and it changes the way we sail."

A real cabin

For its largest unit, Zodiac delivers a truly livable boat, with a separate cabin and toilet. Two real outdoor living areas, aft and forward, combine with plenty of storage space. Available with a low windshield or a hardtop with a high windshield, the X10CC can feature a variety of aft layouts, with one or two bench seats.

The Zodiac X10CC is advertised from 139âeuros¯000⬠HT for standard equipment (excluding engines, assembly and delivery costs), which is within market prices.
