Stratos 43: Viko Yachts announces its largest ever Cossutti-built yacht

Polish builder Viko Yachts unveils the first images of its future flagship, the Stratos 43, which inaugurates a comfortable range designed by Cossutti. The project is designed to combine quality with the shipyard's customary low price.

First sailboat in the Stratos range

Polish shipyard Viko Yachts announces the launch of a new range of sailing yachts, with a more ocean-going program, designed for "to compete with luxury sailboat brands, while retaining the fun and accessible spirit appreciated by Viko fans." The first model in this range, christened Stratos, is a 43-footer, expected for Boot 2025. Plans for a Stratos 50 are already on the drawing board, according to the shipyard.

Gilles Mercier, Viko Yachts' importer in France, highlights the skills acquired by the shipyard in recent years. : "With the Viko 35 signed Sergio Lupoli, the shipyard has shown its ability to scale up from its traditional models, and the feedback has been very good, with boats on every continent and over 100 delivered."

A 43-footer by Cossutti

For this new range, Viko Yachts has enlisted the services of naval architect Maurizio Cossutti and his firm. The result is a modernly styled yacht, with a pronounced chine, characteristic hull portholes and a large dolphin, bringing the overall length to 12.6 m. The layout with 2 or 3 cabins remains classic. The forward cabin can be fitted with a separate bathroom and shower. Designed in category A, the yacht should boast 90 m2 of upwind sail area and a displacement of 8,300 kg.

Attractive pre-order prices

To launch its new range, Viko Yachts has announced that pre-orders will open in January 2024. The yacht, delivered to the Polish yard, tax free, is announced at a base price of ?168,000 for pre-orders. Although this price will be revised upwards, Viko Yachts should remain well positioned in relation to a market closer to ?300,000 for such sizes.
