Meeting growing demand from pleasure boaters
Year after year, the nautical world sees the development of new trends. After a strong craze for catamarans, and in particular power catamarans, the market is now seeing a flurry of powercat dayboats. Aquila Catamarans, already present in this segment for several years, has been joined by brands such as Four Winns, and more recently by shipyards such as Catana with its Yot brand, and Spain's Tesoro.
A new player has entered the market, Aventura Yachts . In May 2024, the shipyard will launch the first model of the 38 Sport Cruiser .
Laurent Snieg, Sales and Marketing Director, explains this choice: "We chose to bring this type of boat to market because it corresponds to a growing demand from yachtsmen for a mixed-use boat for daytime relaxation and short cruising, offering large living spaces at anchor and generously-sized cabins. The design of our A38 SC, with its unrivalled beam of 5.30 m, is ideally suited to this type of demand."
A new, sportier range
This 11.60 m long open catamaran replaces the former Aventura 10 Power, which is no longer in the catalog. The 38 SC also introduces a new range for Aventura Yachts - in addition to the MY50 - with a new design by Samer Lasta of Lasta Design Studio.
Laurent Snieg explains: "The design of the 38 Sport Cruiser departs from that of the A50 Motor Yacht, as it prefigures a new family of motor catamarans with a sportier look, more outward-looking and capable of higher speeds. Our idea with the Sport Cruiser line will be to complement our existing Motor Yacht range to appeal to owners of monohull speedboats or daycruisers. Other larger models are in the pipeline. What's more, thanks to a planing hull design, our boat will be faster than traditional motor catamarans. Top speed is around 35 knots and cruising speed around 25 knots."
An open, comfortable deck layout with two fully-equipped cabins
The 38 Sport Cruiser features a large movable bathing platform aft, complemented by two tilting bulwarks to port and starboard. In the center, an imposing three-person sundeck is complemented aft by an outdoor galley. The main deck, protected by the boat's roof, is completely open to the cockpit. A closed cockpit version is also available.
This living area features two opposing squares with L-shaped bench seating and dining table. The helm station is located forward on the starboard side, with a spacious helm station and two pilot seats. The open wheelhouse is fully glazed on the front and sides, offering a beautiful view of the outside. A central passageway is integrated into the curved windshield to access the foredeck, where you'll find a large, intimate saloon with table. Access is also possible via the two side walkways with steps.
Access to the hulls is via a dedicated companionway on each side. The hulls house two cabins with 160 cm beds and en-suite bathrooms.
Engine and price
Several engine powers, all Yanmar, are proposed: 2x195 hp, 2x320 hp or 2x370 hp. Mercury-supplied outboard versions are also available: 2x200, 2x300 and 2x400 hp. An electric version with 2 x100 kw Torquedoo will also be available.
Laurent Snieg concludes: "The basic price of the boat is ?398,750 ex VAT with 2x250hp. A very well-equipped, ready-to-sail version will retail at around ?550,000 ex VAT with 2x370hp Yanmar diesel inboard."
