Launched with great fanfare at La Rochelle, the Nova brand has just been created by Navicom. This distributor of boating products already offers Navicom VHFs under its own name. To integrate a new multi-function display (MFD), Navicom has decided to launch a new brand.
Ease of use
Nova displays are distinguished by their ease of use. The software they incorporate can be understood and manipulated without having to go through an instruction manual. This is quite common today, and customary with our mobile accessories, but much less so in boating, where you often have to get back into the swing of things each season before understanding your on-board electronics. With simple menus and a touch screen, navigation between the Nova's possibilities is a breeze.
A complete package
For navigation, the Nova is equipped with an integrated 10 Hz GPS and a microSD card reader compatible with Navionics maps. A CHIRP radar with a 24-mile range is available as an option at ?2,519. NMEA 2000 compatible, it can display all on-board information circulating on the network, from engine information to wind and weather... Nova also features an integrated audio amplifier. Simply plug in a pair of speakers to transfer music from your cell phone to the Nova via Bluetooth.
A double screen!
Nova screens are available in 5 sizes: 10, 12, 16, 22 or 24 inches. But above all, Nova offers a dual 10-inch screen. These are in fact 2 10" screens side by side, autonomous, but using a single processor. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this also makes financial sense, as it avoids the need to buy 2 10-inch devices to equip your console.
Nova products are available in a price range from ?2,159 to ?12,799 incl. VAT.
