Special Edition / Bretagne Bateaux Bois : Atypical rentals in electric boats

From Malestroit and Saint-Vincent sur Oust, Bretagne Bateaux Bois offers a fleet of atypical and electric boats to travel the Breton river network in an original and responsible way, at the pace that suits you.

Exceptional sites in Brittany

In 2023, Bretagne Bateaux Bois opens its 2nd rental base, in Saint-Vincent sur-Oust. Like the first in Malestroit in Morbihan, the second on the site of Ile aux Pies, in the neighboring department of Ille-et-Vilaine, gives wide access to the Breton river network, served by the Oust and the Canal de Nantes à Brest. Depending on your tastes, you can go as far west as the Finistère border, Nantes via the canal, or even Dinan and Saint-Malo via the Vilaine.

The Bretagne Bateaux Bois base is nestled in the Maclay lockhouse, opposite Brittany's busiest lock, between the canal and the Oust. Close to the exceptional site of Ile aux Pies and its cliffs, it offers a lovely stretch of water for navigation, even for short periods. Further afield, you'll find pretty Breton towns like Josselin.

A fleet of original boats

Also a manufacturer, Bretagne Bateaux Bois offers all the boats it builds at its 2 bases. All wooden and electrically powered, they range in size from the small hollow boat to the more fully-equipped "pénette cabanée", inspired by local heritage boats, with sleeping for 2. Between 2, you'll find open penettes for protection from the elements while enjoying the outside air.

For even greater autonomy, some penettes are equipped with solar panels.

Each base has 6 to 7 boats.
