Nautical magazines are full of lists that are supposed to help you not forget anything! It's seasonal, but you probably don't need to be reminded to bring rain gear, non-slip shoes or sunglassesâ?¦ There are other less obvious items, but without them, a cruise wouldn't have the same flavor.
An annex on wheels
On a river, the bicycle is your tender, at least the extension of the boat when the locks close and you are far from the bakery. It extends your range of action and the perimeter of your visits. The rental companies offer them, but nothing prevents you from bringing your own. You need at least 2 on board!

Escape on the water
A kayak or inflatable paddle-board is a real plus, especially if you're sailing on a river. It's a great way to escape to explore backwaters where the boat couldn't go. If you have one of these fabulous discovery devices, be sure to bring it with you.

Creativity tools
Binoculars and camera are also equipment not to forget at home. The wildlife along the water's edge is not too shy and is easy to observe, while the golden hours offer great lighting that will boost your creativity. Be sure to bring your sketchbook or watercolor box if you need to!

Sound on the water
If you play a musical instrument, take it with you. Nowhere else will it sound as good as on the water! If you're worried that hot, cold, or coveting will harm it, there are some fairly inexpensive travel instruments that are fun to play and can be taken anywhere without risk.

Blade in pocket
The pocket knife is not the prerogative of the offshore sailor alone. In fresh water, it can also save your life, even if a mooring line gets stuck in a downstream lock. This can happen when the stones of the bajoyer are badly joined. In this case, you have to act quickly and cut it off before the boat gets stuck.

Adapted chargers
If you prefer wild landings to developed harbors, you will have to manage electrical energy and the recharging of your devices. Take along 12V adapters with USB port, the ones you forget in the car! But also a spare battery that will ensure the charge when no plug is available. Avoid 220V devices and don't wait until you're on board to deplore the absence of a USB charger for your camera.

User-friendly games
We leave on a cruise to navigate and we quickly discover that the important thing is conviviality. Don't forget to take along some collective games. Board games of course, but also outdoor games such as Molkky which gives rise to wild games.
