Felci 63 Catamaran, a modern model combining performance and habitability

The new concept of the Italian studio Felci Yacht Design is a high performance, but also comfortable, offshore catamaran built in carbon.

A modern and dynamic design

Felci Yacht Design is an Italian studio known for the design of the entire range of the French shipyard Dufour. It is also at the origin of fast one-off sailboats. After a first try in the catamaran with the Felci 80 Catamaran, which is currently under construction, the studio has just unveiled a second model, the Felci 63 Catamaran, 19 m long.

This new model has a modern and dynamic design with curved lines. The hulls are narrow at the level of the living works and equipped with reversed bows. The redan allows to bring space inside. The hulls are high on the water to ensure safe offshore sailing, especially in rough seas. Finally, for performance, the designers opted for telescopic daggerboards, which will be used upwind. When not in use, they are hidden in their carbon wells and leave a flush deck.

A helm station to navigate without pressure

The helm station is located on the flybridge, accessible from a side staircase. There are two steering wheels and all the winches to adjust the three sails on furler. If the studio's objective is to combine performance and comfort, it also wanted to create a boat that is easy to sail. From the roof, there is a clear view forward and aft for maneuvering. The circulation is done via the broad gangways equipped with broad steps on the back. The front deck has a large trampoline.

An interior - exterior layout

The cockpit is very large. It is accessible from two large skirts. It offers a dining area, several sunbathing areas, all protected by the roof cap. A right bench seat is installed further back. The sliding glass window makes the link between the interior and the exterior with a flush floor.

inside, there is a lounge area on the starboard side, a chart table on the bow to manage the boat in bad weather with the autopilot, the joysticks, the moteuros, etc. Finally, the starboard side is reserved for the large kitchen. The panoramic roof offers visibility on the outside from all sides. As for the ventilation, it is done thanks to the three roof panels.
