A well-protected deck plan
The Leen 72 is the largest model in the motor trimaran range of the eponymous shipyard, dedicated to ocean-going multihulls. Launched in 2021, the Leen 56 offers a smaller alternative. A Leen 50 is also under construction and will be presented in 2023.

This new model differs from its little brother by its front deck with a very important overhang, like a dolphin. It also has an impressive anchoring system with two anchors. The wide side decks are protected by the roof extensions to move around in all weather conditions, forming a real outdoor passageway.

An electric annex garage
At the stern, the steps of the main hull give access to a small bathing platform and hide an electric tender garage for a 4 m boat. The other two skirts also have steps and a small platform with a swim ladder.

A cockloon for an indoor/outdoor living space
The cockpit is also protected by the roof cap and is directly linked to the saloon, a concept baptized "Cockloon" by the shipyard and that it also declines on its range of Neel sailing trimarans. Thus, the sliding window is completely hidden in the bulkheads to enjoy a large closed/open space.

From the cockpit, you have access to a very large flybridge of 50 m2, which can be completely customized by the owner: sunbathing area, dining area, bar, outdoor kitchen, etc. The outdoor helm station is located in the bow and is protected by a rigid hard top. From this open-air space, you can access the wheelhouse located at the front of the main deck, thanks to a companionway installed next to the dashboard.

A main bridge for everyday life
The wheelhouse is spacious, with a very large cockpit and a double bench seat. It benefits from large curved and anti-glare windows. On the port side, a large lounge allows the pilot to keep company.

From the wheelhouse, you have direct access to the saloon with its dining table on the port side and its galley forward. The latter, fully equipped, offers all the appliances expected in a blue water cruiser: oven, hob, dishwasher, freezer, American fridge, but also many storage spaces.

On this same level, the owner's cabin is located on the starboard side and offers a central double bed facing the sea. Its private bathroom with separate shower is accessible via a few steps and positioned in the starboard float. The other part of the lower central hull houses the huge engine room where we find the engines, the generator, the battery bank, but also the different tanks and equipment (air conditioning, watermaker). The latter is totally insulated at the level of the partitions and the floor by foam blocks. The founder of the shipyard, Eric Bruneel, indicates that at a speed of 9/10 knots, the navigation is done without noise or vibrations.

Two guest cabins
Two guest cabins are accessible from the main deck and have sliding companionway doors for privacy: one in the port side float with its bathroom in the bow and the other in the forward point of the main hull also with a bathroom. A 4-cabin configuration is also available with a main deck divided between a living room and a dining room.

A hybrid engine
Concerning the engine, the shipyard has chosen 3 engines and a hybrid configuration. The main engine is a Cummins of 330 hp installed in the main hull. The two others, one in each float, are electric Bellmarines. They fulfill three roles on board:
- Maneuvering in marinas,
- Emission-free operation for about 1.5 hours thanks to the battery pack
- To serve as emergency engines in case of failure of the main engine thanks to the generator with a speed of 5 to 6 knots.
Concerning the consumption euros the immense tank contains 5 000 l of diesel oil euros the shipyard announces a consumption of 2 L/mile at 10 knots and 1 L/mile at 7/8 knots. euros 10 knots, the autonomy is 2 500 miles and at 8/9 knots of 3 300 miles.
