Sika is a world-renowned brand for its many applications in the marine industry. Each product has its own specificities depending on the work to be done. Despite its market leadership, there are also alternatives from other manufacturers.

A historical player

Founded in 1910 by Kaspar Winkler of Switzerland, Sika's first product was a fast-setting waterproofing admixture for mortar, which was used to waterproof the Gotthard tunnel. It enabled the Swiss railway company to electrify the link between northern and southern Europe.

Since then, the Swiss firm has developed know-how in the construction and automotive industries, which has subsequently benefited the boating industry

The Sikaflex 291i is a mono-component polyurethane product, which is adapted to the realization of flexible joints, or the assembly of fittings on the boat deck. Available in three colors (white, black, grey), it will ensure a perfect seal on the deck.

The Sikaflex 290 is designed for caulking joints and finishing on the boat deck. UV and sea water resistant, it can be sanded.

The glue putty Sikaflex 591 is one of the most versatile products in the range. It can be used for both bonding and sealing, indoors and outdoors. Available in three colors, it is highly resistant to UV and vibration.

The Sikaflex 292i is a mono-component polyurethane adhesive. It is designed for assemblies such as keel-hull, hull-deck or chainplate connections.

The Sikasil SG 20 is a one-component silicone adhesive designed for window bonding. It has excellent adhesion to wood, glass, plastic and metals, while benefiting from UV and aging resistance.

The Sikaflex 298 is a spatulable adhesive for the bonding of deck coverings.

The Sikasil P is a neutral, fungicidal silicone sealant dedicated to the sealing of sanitary elements in bathrooms or kitchen areas.
