Dandy, the small electric motorboat to discover navigation

François Lagabrielle, co-founder and president of the company Beau Comme un Bateau, has decided to open up sailing to as many people as possible. His first model, the Dandy, is a small electric boat of 2 m that is easy to pilot and does not require a license.

Easy to control and store

The Dandy is a small electric motorboat built by the company Beau as a boat less than 2 m long (1.88 m exactly). The project behind this design is to open up and facilitate access to navigation for everyone with a boat that is easy to maneuver and store.

Approved as a beach craft (Division 245), there is no need for a license to pilot this small boat built in polyester and fiberglass and manufactured in France, in the heart of the Mayenne region, Pays de la Loire.

Electric motor and reduced speed

With an empty weight of 50 kg - 60 kg with the removable 915 Wh lithium batteries and the 1000 watt (3 hp) Torqeedo motor - the Dandy is easily transportable and can be stored in a cockpit or on the deck of a boat as a dinghy or toy. Its draft is 40 cm, but the base is easily removed. Another feature is that it can be fitted with fenders to protect the blue (or white) gelcoat.

Capable of carrying a maximum load of 130 kg, it can be used by two people, an adult and a child. At a speed of 3 knots, the Dandy offers an autonomy of 4 hours and can be recharged with a 90W charger on a power outlet.
