All stainless steel clamp type Serflex at Seaview Progress

What could be more banal than a clamp? Well, this equipment can be very technical in order to answer to security and ease of use. Discover the PYI clamps distributed by Seaview Progress

Today we will talk about hose clamps. These equipments are widely used on a boat as soon as it is necessary to connect a pipe. We think directly of all the plumbing on board (kitchen, toilet, bathroom ...) but also for all the engine connections.

"It doesn't get much easier than a hose clamp" you might ask? However, you have to have wanted to unscrew a rusty clamp to realize the importance of the quality of a good clamp.

Often the so-called stainless steel clamps are only made of 304 stainless steel (less resistant) and especially the clamping screw is made of steel. The whole thing is not really suitable for marine conditions.

To avoid these problems, Seaview Progress distributes a range of 316L stainless steel clamps, the reference stainless steel in boats. The American manufacturer PYI is also the manufacturer of PSS cable glands. They needed good clamps for their installations. A clamp that breaks at this point and the penalty is immediate: the boat sinks!

The clamps are made entirely of stainless steel. Even the clamping screw. They are not slit all around to limit water ingress and therefore corrosion. The screwing cage is made of one piece for more solidity. Above all, the edges of the clamp are raised so as not to be sharp and not to damage the pipes.

These clamps are available in 30 diameters for tightening from 9.5 mm to 28 cm. You can tighten them with a screwdriver or better with a wrench of 7. To facilitate the tightening of inaccessible collars, the manufacturer offers a socket of 7 mounted on a flexible screwdriver.
