As every year for the past 23 years, the Voiles de Saint-Tropez animates the Mediterranean back season. Since September 25, 2021, and for two weeks, traditional and modern sailboats are ready to race in a friendly atmosphere.

Two weeks of regattas

The 23rd edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez was launched this Saturday, September 25, 2021, with the opening of the race village. Initiated in 2020, the new race format will be able to take its full meaning, welcoming the public again for a great mass on land and at sea.

During the first week, classic boats are welcomed at the same time as modern boats, with a maximum length of 18.28 m. More than 200 classic yachts of all sizes - some of which are over 40 m long - will be in the port of Saint-Tropez. The latter - 37 classic yachts - which were supposed to take advantage of the finish of the "Régates Royales de Cannes" - the Autumn Cup of the Yacht-Club de France - to reach Saint-Tropez, after a 21-mile sail, finally did so without any sporting objective, the weather being too stormy.

In the second week, from Sunday, October 3 to Saturday, October 9, it will be the turn of the large modern yachts - the Maxi's - to do battle, notably during an additional day of racing. Approximately 50 boats are expected to participate in the Voiles Maxi Yachts. Thanks to this new format, the public will be able to watch the regattas from the Estienne d'Orves mole and attend the starts from the Portalet.

After a training Sunday under the storms, the first regattas should take place this Monday, September 27. More than 130 racing-cruising yachts divided into 5 groups will sail in the gulf to try to win the first place in their category.
