Azimut Grande Trideck, four terraces to enjoy the sea

The latest model from the Italian shipyard Azimut is also the largest at 38 metres long. But above all, it is the first yacht to offer "three decks plus one" to take maximum advantage of the exterior and contact with the sea.

The Sea View Terrace, an extra deck to enjoy the outdoors

The Grande Trideck is the largest model ever built by the Azimut shipyard, but also their first three-deck "plus one" yacht, thanks to the addition of an extra aft deck, the Sea View Terrace. This creates a visual effect of a cascading deck from the Sundeck to the sea. The interior layout is also different, to create spaces more suited to the demands of contemporary owners, with a less formal lifestyle and closer contact with the sea.

A gross tonnage of less than 300 GT

Despite its 38 m length, the Trideck has sporty and dynamic lines and a semi-planing hull. Despite its size, it has a gross tonnage of less than 300 GT, due in particular to the use of carbon fiber for the superstructure, generating an absolute weight reduction of 6 tons, but also to the bathing platform that is kept partially open. The yacht is equipped with a 2nd generation D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull, which allows a considerable reduction in fuel consumption, thanks to the intensive use of carbon fiber.

Four "terraces" on the sea

The shipyard worked in collaboration with Alberto Mancini, for the exterior design, Achille Salvagni, who took care of the interiors, and Pierluigi Ausonio, who worked with Azimut Benetti's Research and Development department on the naval architecture.

The Sea View Terrace is a sort of floating platform of 30 m2 that seems to be suspended in the air, 2 m above the water. There is a large C-shaped sofa facing the stern for entertaining guests. This elevated deck also has a 2nd advantage. It gives height to the beach club area below, which can be used in its entire width, thanks to the separate garage for tenders and toys. With 2 m of headroom and cut-outs in the bulwarks, the Beach-Club is a real beach on the sea. At anchor, the hinged transom opens to increase the available surface to more than 30 m2, in direct link with the sea, entirely customizable in terms of furnishings and with a bar and a toilet.

With "+ One", Mancini has reworked the concept of staggered decks to offer new large volumes, while maintaining the Azimuth style. In addition to this new space, other outdoor areas overlooking the sea include: the sunbathing area on the Sundeck, the main outdoor dining area on the upper deck with an expandable square table to seat 12 and lounge area, and the Beach Club.

The two lowest lounges on the sea renegotiate the relationship to the water and offer a total of 60 m2 of open sea terraces. The inclusion of the Sea View Terrace offers the advantage of creating a private patio in the cockpit of the main deck, an additional sheltered outdoor space before entering the salon for maximum privacy even when moored with the ass facing the dock.

Finally, on the Sundeck there is a large sunbathing area at the stern with sea views. There is also a lounge area with opposing circular sofas, with a table for lunch in the center and towards the bow, an American bar overlooks the horizon with a large barbecue.

A redesigned interior

inside, the design abandons the preconceived functions of each space. For example, the indoor dining room euros usually located on the main deck euros has been moved to the upper deck (Skylounge). The main deck is thus entirely dedicated to a space of conviviality and relaxation. The bar cabinet connects the cockpit patio to the lounge. There are also sofas, designer armchairs and numerous coffee tables. The decoration is luxurious and gives pride of place to noble materials: marble, mahogany, wooden floor

Home automation for the utilities on board

The first Euro unit at the request of its Euro owner benefits from a high level of home automation. All utilities on board: lights, air conditioning, curtains, latest generation audio and video system can be controlled from the provided tablets, including a huge 77" ultra-flat TV that electrically emerges from a special compartment on the main deck.

5 or 6 cabins

at the front, on the main deck, is the transverse owner's cabin with large windows, an entrance, a dressing area and a breakfast area. The bathroom, accessible through an automatic sliding door, is a natural extension of the master suite with a shower, a double sink and above all a large central round bathtub.

The Skylounge is designed as a versatile space, as most people prefer to eat outside. There's a sort of cozy nook, with a huge, comfortable sofa and a convertible table, an attractive place to watch TV after dinner, with a 55-inch pop-up flat screen. For indoor dining, the table can be raised and extended to serve as a main indoor dining area for 12 people.

The layout is flexible, with several options. The first units ordered all include the new 6th VIP cabin positioned on the upper deck, enjoying a beautiful sea view. While the captain's cabin is located on the lower deck. More traditional layout solutions are also available with an enclosed pantry and captain's cabin on the upper deck just aft of the wheelhouse or a dining area in the forward part of the main salon.

The cockpit with futuristic dashboard integrates all the onboard systems with Simrad Command. On the foredeck, a large lounge area with sunbeds surrounding the circular hot tub is located in front of the windshield, a lounge area with sofas follows and another lounge area towards the bow, sheltered by a mini windshield.

On the lower deck there are four en-suite guest cabins: two VIP cabins aft and two guest cabins forward.

A new 2nd generation shell

The Trideck is the first model of the Italian manufacturer to feature the new 2.5" D2P (Diplacement to Planing) hull e generation. The Grande 35Metri, with its first generation D2P hull, was already the best in its class, and the second generation debuts on the Trideck with substantial improvements. Despite being 3 meters longer, 30 GT larger and 35 tons heavier, the Trideck consumes the same amount of fuel as its smaller sister at all speeds above 19 knots, and manages to be 15% more efficient at a cruising speed of 15 knots. To put these results in context, compared to a traditional live-aboard hull, the improvement in displacement fuel efficiency is over 40%.

The D2P® hull is based on the combination of three main elements: the double chine, which gives stability at displacement speeds while reducing drag at higher speeds; the bow wavepiercer, increasing the hull length at the waterline, reducing displacement consumption and reducing pitching in rough seas; and finally the center keel, which guarantees optimal heading stability, especially in following seas.

Thus, despite the increased volume on board, the low center of gravity of the Trideck is preserved, guaranteeing excellent static and dynamic stability. The combination of the D2P® hull and the carbon superstructure means a significant improvement in performance: lower fuel consumption, higher speed and longer range.

Many options to enjoy life on board

The Trideck has an advanced SeaEnergy power management system, which allows automatic optimization of onboard power consumption by balancing shore power and generators (or only offshore generators) based on utility power requirements.

For even more freedom, owners can also add the hotel mode to the Trideck. This means being able to relax, anchored in a bay with zero emissions and in total silence. With a lithium battery of about 130 kWh, the Trideck can run the main services on board with the generators off for up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night.

Grande Trideck receives two MTU engines of 2400 or 2600 hp each. The first model tested, with a 2600 hp engine, had a maximum speed of 24 knots, a range of 700 miles at 19 knots and, at a cruising speed of 12 knots, a range of over 1700 miles.
