"Sailors, shepherds, solitudes", a collection for sea and mountain lovers

Having experienced the world of sailors and that of shepherds, Amandine Cau presents a collection of poetic reflections on these two environments. Making a parallel and a connection between these two lives turned towards nature.

Amandine Cau is a sailor who had the opportunity to sail the seas for more than 10 years. But her taste for nature led her to settle down for a while in the mountains to look after the sheep. In her collection "Sailors, shepherds, solitudes", she weaves the parallel between these two worlds. Two spaces so distant and yet reflecting so many similarities.

Stopping on critical points (landscapes, colors, weather, encounters, habitat ...), she expresses with great poetry, the analogy between the mountain of the shepherds and their way of appropriating it, with the sea of sailors and their visions of this nautical environment. For Amandine Cau, the mountain is never immobile, it is very changeable during the day or the seasons. Just like the sea, it changes color according to the weather or the angle with the sun. Exactly like the sea..

Often sailors have a need for mountains after a long period at sea, the author in this book beautifully illustrated with double page photos, explains it to us with his words chosen for their lyricism.

"Sailors, shepherds, solitudes" is a small book to offer to all lovers of space, to all those who are looking for a "why" to take the open sea or to land in a valley. Sea and mountain so similar that they will become one, as soon as you have the freedom stuck to your mind.
