The Tofinou is a day boat whose origin dates back to the beginning of the century. Wishing to acquire a fast but elegant day boat, Captain Merle designed a sailboat, which was christened Tofinou, and built in Saint-Martin, on the island of Ré. In 1987, Philippe Joubert founded a small shipyard which he named Latitude 46, in reference to its geographical position. The shipyard welcomes various units for wintering, including an abandoned day boat named Tofinou...

The Tofinou range, which takes its name from a Beninese tribe meaning "people of the sea", now consists of 7 models. But while keeping a leitmotiv: " Our boatyard places a lot of importance on aesthetics. A boat must be beautiful. The preservation of an exceptional French know-how, combined with the latest techniques in wood and composite work. Under the appearance of a traditional sailboat, we produce modern units, with choices of materials and avant-garde technical solutions. "

A premium offer

The Latitude 46 shipyard has positioned itself in a niche market, for sailors wishing to sail differently, on fast and elegant vessels. Some models have been designed by Philippe Starck, who has added his touch to the interior fittings.
