Serge Ferrari produces coated PVC fabrics. Unlike woven acrylic products that receive a water-repellent product to make them waterproof, coated PVC is waterproof by its construction. Serge Ferrari's expertise lies in its ability to manufacture PVC fabrics that are as flexible and grainy as woven acrylic.
Two distribution networks
Today Serge Ferrari fabrics are diffused by two circuits. The first one by shipyards which use the fabrics in first assembly. It is thus necessary to make prescriptions to the building sites, but the sales are made to the manufacturers. It is the assemblers who make the cushions or the seats for example who will be the buyers according to the specifications of the building site. Promotion is therefore done through the network.
The second distribution channel concerns the after market and mainly saddlery. A pool of 3 distributors is in charge of selling to saddlers. And it is to ensure the promotion to the yachtsmen that Serge Ferrari wants to rely today on ambassadors.
Looking for Ambassadors
Serge Ferrari fabrics are present on our boats (sailboats as well as motorboats) in three areas: upholstery (interior and exterior cushions...), crew protection (awning, bimini, hood...) and equipment protection (sail cover, helm cover, winter cover...). In order to make this know-how known and to share it, the fabric manufacturer is looking for ambassadors, sailors who will know how to tell the story of the fabric, who will maintain a good "radio pontoon". Serge Ferrari offers his sailors to equip them with fabrics and clothing in exchange for communication about the brand on the networks!
While ambassadors who already have a community are easy to identify in sailing (especially with the many travellers who share their adventures), it is much harder to find this kind of profile in motorboating or fishing. Notice to fans... Identify yourself in the comments!
