Fishing version for the Pyxis Yacht P-30 WA
The Pyxis Yacht P-30 WA is a versatile boat for short cruising, designed by Italian designers Alessandro Chessa and Carlo Galeazzi. Inside, there are two cabins - a U-shaped saloon convertible into a double berth and a mid-cabin at the stern as well as a separate shower room. Eager to create a fishing version of its daycruiser, Pyxis Yachts has worked in collaboration with leading fishing specialists, including top sports fishermen, taking inspiration from well-known American fishing brands.
A stable, high-performance boat
The shipyard has therefore based itself on the marine qualities of its boat to optimize its fishing version. To increase the fishing comfort, the Pyxis 30 WA Fishing is a very stable boat, due to a deep V hull with a 20° angle on the stern. This is an advantage when hauling the catch on board. We also find the characteristics of the cruising version, i.e. performance and safety, in particular thanks to a good freeboard height.
A deck plan for easy movement
The walkaround deck plan also allows easy movement around the boat, from bow to stern, via the gangways. In addition, the foredeck will be shortened to facilitate the fishing action.
The hard-top previously fixed on the freeboards will be placed on the kitchen cabinet, always in order not to hinder the fishing action and to make the passage of the fishing rod more fluid. It will also be possible to install custom made rod holders and spinnaker poles which allow the rods to be spread out on the outside when sailing.
A cockpit designed for fishing
In this fishing version, the cockpit has been freed from the fixed starboard bench seat and replaced by a rod storage area integrated into the bulwark. To port and aft, the bench seats are also replaced by folding seats in the bulwarks, to offer maximum fishing space. The port bench seat now gives way to a fishing station at the stern, which will be equipped with a live-well tank to keep the fish alive with seawater circulation. There will also be a cutting station, as well as survival, battery and storage space. Just in front of the engines, another refrigerated storage area will be used to keep the catch.
High-end Smith rod holders with seawater evacuation will be installed throughout the boat: 3 at 0° on the stern module and two at 30° on the port and starboard gunwales.
An adapted motorization
The aft bathing decks have been reduced to 40 cm to allow the installation of Yamaha High Trust engines, with a strong propeller reduction to facilitate low-speed trolling. The fuel tank has been increased to 600 L to offer more autonomy. The Pyxis Yacht 30 WA Fishing can receive from 2x150 HP up to 2x350 HP but the shipyard recommends a power of 400 HP. As an option, it is also possible to opt for flaps.
As an option, the cockpit can be fitted with a 12-inch Garmin multifunction sounder with a 1 kW transducer (transducer).
Fishing and comfort
The rest of the boat will remain the same, as we will find the foredeck with its large sundeck and its kitchen equipped with a fridge, sink and stove. For if the Pyxis 30 WA Fishing is a top-of-the-range sports fishing boat, it does not forget all the comfort necessary for family cruising.
This model will be available in early 2021 and can already be pre-ordered.
