A good start to your career

Following in the footsteps of Ellen MacArthur's Kingfisher, Temenos II is an Owen Clarke design built in the renowned Southern Ocean Marine shipyard in New Zealand. Dominique was able to bring in the experience he has accumulated over 5 round the world voyages to design this simple and powerful machine. Dominique finished 5th in the 2006 Route du Rhum and 3rd in the Barcelona World Race, co-skippered by his partner Michèle Barret.

He is an outsider at the start of the 2008 Vendée Globe. However, on the 33rd day of racing, Dominique noticed that his keel actuator had broken and had to divert to the Kerguelen Islands, where he announced his retirement.
Dominique Wavre's breakthrough and then success
Under the colours of Mirabaud, Dominique, accompanied by Michèle Barret, is taking the start of the Barcelona World Race 2011, but will be dismasting off Argentina. The incident occurred while Mirabaud was sailing in very difficult conditions, with messy seas.

After a long refit to make it more reliable, Dominique is now presenting himself with his Mirabeau, which he knows by heart, at the start of the 2012 Vendée Globe. Dominique sailed a great race, rounding Cape Horn for the 9th time, and will be ranked 7th in Les Sables-d'Olonne.

A second Vendée Globe with Rich Wilson

Taken over by the American Rich Wilson in 2014, the former Mirabaud, renamed Great American IV, is undergoing a six-month construction project in Portland, Maine. Victim of lightning while moored in the East Coast port, the boat required major work. After dismasting in the 2004 Vendée Globe, Rich wants to put all the chances on his side for the 2016 edition. He will make his dream come true by finishing in 13th place, after 107 days at sea.

A new boat from 2006

The boat briefly passed through the hands of the Irishman Enda O'Coineen before being taken over by Miranda Merron only 18 months ago (summer 2019). The boat has not sailed much since her arrival in Les Sables with Rich Wilson and needs a big yard.

In order to take control of her IMOCA, Miranda, accompanied by Halvard Mabire, entered the 2019 Jacques Vabre, which they finished in 23rd place. This transatlantic race enabled them to highlight the numerous preparatory work to be carried out, particularly on the autopilot, which frequently stalls.

Built in Normandy, it will undergo a very successful preparation under the leadership of Halvard Mabire. The boat is still in her 2010 configuration, but everything has been reviewed. In spite of a tight budget, it is a boat in perfect condition that will be setting off from Les Sables-d'Olonne.

With this reliable and classic boat, which has benefited from New Zealand's construction know-how and Halvard Mabire's talent for preparation, Miranda hopes above all to complete a nice loop around the world.
