James Cook, a 17th century adventurer's life as told in comics

A man's life is sometimes surprising that it can be told in a novel. The life of James Cook who travels across the Pacific Ocean from Europe is one of these. Told in comics, we discover the extraordinary journey of this man attracted by the sea.

James Cook is a 17th century navigator and explorer. A military sailor under the English flag, he used his knowledge of navigation to explore the Pacific. At that time, Australia was not known. With a skill in cartography, able to lead men by listening to them, clever and intelligent, James Cook spent his life travelling the Pacific.

This comic book (planned in 2 volumes) tells the story of the sailor's early apprenticeship and his first voyage which led him to map New Zealand. The drawings in this comic book are not of great value and the narration is rather discontinuous. You have to find your way through the dates to follow the evolution of the sailor's career. But this narrative offers a quick and easy access to a sailor who made great discoveries. His curiosity led him to the opposite side of the globe. His biography is delivered to us thus raw, but not without interest.

This Explora series takes up the destiny of the great explorers. Magellan, Marco Polo, Jacques Cartier among others, see their lives brought to light for the happiness of the readers. All these stories are not the same, but the latest publication on James Cook is worth the detour, as this man had a truly exciting nautical career. Whether one is still young enough to dream about these heroes from another time, or much older, everyone will learn from these pages about the extraordinary journey that James Cook and his crews mapped out on the Pacific.
