The names of the tags in Breton help us to understand the landscape and history

In Brittany, many of the lighthouses, beacons and localities have Breton names that it is amusing to know how to translate, sometimes to better understand the landscape and the sea.

You have, of course, recognized the famous Ar-Men lighthouse, located off the Sein. This name can simply be translated as "the stone" or "the rock".

This is simply the name of the pebble on which the lighthouse was built from 1867. The lighthouse was commissioned in August 1881.
