The Italian shipyard Codecasa, specialist in custom superyachts, has unveiled its new project, the Codecasa Jet 2020. With this unusual design, Cantieri Navali Codecasa wants to launch a new nautical trend by combining water and air. Thus, the Italian shipyard hopes to start the construction of its yacht in the first half of 2020.
To achieve this, this 70 m long yacht has stylistic elements borrowed from both aviation and yachting. The designer Fulvio Codecasa breaks completely with the codes in force in the maritime industry and introduces a brand new concept within the Italian manufacturer's range of boats.
"The Codecasa Jet 2020 is a unique piece, a trend-setting model. It has lines from aviation and reinterpreted in a nautical way, to give birth to something never seen before at sea. The lines are clean and the interior and exterior spaces huge." explains the designer.
Except for the hull, the design is still closer to that of a cargo plane than a ship. The front part of the yacht is reminiscent of an aircraft cockpit with its rounded shape. The 10 m long and 10 m wide upper deck is enclosed between the bow and stern of the boat, and accommodates a 6 x 2 m swimming pool, large sunbathing areas and an indoor sports hall.
On the back, the vertical construction is again reminiscent of the tail of an airplane. The beach club on the water surface is served by an elevator that connects it to the main dining room, hidden behind large bay windows (3 m high), on the upper deck level. The Codecasa Jet 2020 offers a helipad and a main deck reserved for the storage of tenders for the owner and his guests.
The forward area of the deck is dedicated to the owner's suite, as for the guests, 4 luxurious cabins await them on the lower deck. At the bow, there are also the crew's quarters. The wheelhouse is also connected to the three decks by elevator, and more directly to the master's cabin.
