euros when the departure for the Mini Transat La Boulangère ?

While the start of the Mini Transat La Boulangère was supposed to be given this Sunday, September 22nd, the expected weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay did not allow the 87 minis ready to fight to start.

For the moment the organization announces that the departure will not take place before Saturday, September 28.

"Due to the weather conditions expected in the Bay of Biscay and Cape Finisterre over the next few days, there will be no departure until Saturday, September 28. We will keep you informed daily of the evolution of the conditions", here is the message that the competitors have received. Knowing that the race direction wishes to warn the runners 48 hours in advance, it will thus be necessary that the departure is announced this Thursday 26 so that it is effective this Saturday

Half of the participants remained in La Rochelle, waiting for the next departure.

Mast broken in three for Kito de Pavant

This Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Kito de Pavant was conducting a measurement test on his Class40 Made In Midi in preparation for his participation in the Transat Jacques Vabre. Unfortunately for the Occitan skipper, the mast of his monohull broke in three. This was a hard blow for the team, which has been preparing for the Route du Café for months, in which Kito was to participate for the 10th edition e times euros with Achille Nebout.

For the moment, the team is waiting for an expert report, but especially for another mast or another boat.

"The rules have changed this year. So we replaced a moulded gennaker halyard with a hooked halyard, which makes the mast lighter. But when you lighten the mast, it doesn't pass the stability test anymore, so we removed some lead in the keel bulb to compensate. The boat has been under construction for the last two weeks, and so, to be in order, we had to redo a weighing and a 90° test

Dismasting in the harbor with 0 knots of wind is not easy to accept" explains Kito de Pavant.

Christening of the IMOCA Apivia

On Saturday 22 September, Charlie Dalin's 60-foot monohull Apivia was christened in La Rochelle. The skipper will now be able to serenely take the road of the Transat Jacques Vabre 2019, before plunging into his goal of the Vendée Globe 2020.

"It was a truly symbolic day that we shared with many employees and elected representatives of Apivia Mutuelle and the Macif group under the sun of La Rochelle. I am lucky to have a partner who is very present and invested in everything we do with the technical team. This team at my side brings together great skills, which allowed us to be operational very quickly and to be here today! From now on, I can't wait to be at the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre and to make you experience great emotions!"
