Web series / Driven by the wind: Mechanical workshop aboard Maloya

In this Vlog 43 of Poussé par le Vent, part 2, Aurélien tackles the various repairs to be done aboard Maloya. He explains his method and gives some advice for this mechanical work.

After Maloya's refit is replaced by mechanical work. Aurélien is the one who sticks to it and gives method and good advice to make them happen.

In the video program, Aurélien checks the propeller shaft alternator. It explains how to dismantle a propeller shaft and carry out checks and repairs: changing the hydrolube bushings, cleaning the propeller shaft, changing the gland seal, etc.

Aurélien also takes the opportunity to check the cooling circuit of the inverter: seal wear and copper condition.

Then place the seawater filter, which cools the engine, because there are leaks on board Maloya. Aurélien also took the opportunity to check the condition of the valves and through-hulls.

There is not only work under the bridge but also on the bridge: change of the deflection pulleys and gooseneck.

Work that lasted 2 weeks instead of one with a full day of cleaning before Maloya can be reintegrated.
