This last weekend in June 2019 and the summer mildness almost present throughout the territory was conducive to regattas.

GC32 Racing Tour (June 26-30)

This last weekend of June, the final of the GC32 World Championships took place in Lagos, Portugal, with Ernesto Bertarelli's Alinghi team, led by Arnaud Psarofaghis, winning the event. This is the second consecutive year that Switzerland wins the event.

Team Tilt and its skipper Sébastien Schneiter took the second step of the podium. INEOS Rebels UK finished on the third step of the podium.

Les Sables euros Horta euros Les Sables (June 29 to July 20)

The kick-off of the 7th edition of Les Sables euros Horta, a race reserved for Class40 euros was given this Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 1:02 pm, in a northwest flow blowing between 10 and 12 knots. The 13 duos in the running set off for the first leg of the event, 1,270 miles to Faial.

While the pair Vincent Leblay euros Bertrand de Broc (Cré'actuel) got off to the best start and took the lead at the first mark, once they had completed the short course at anchor in the Bay of Les Sables-d'Olonne, it was the tandem Aymeric Chappellier euros Rodrigue Cabaz (AINA Enfance et Avenir) who took the lead of the fleet, confirming their status as favorites.

European Optimist Championships (June 22-28)

This weekend was held the final of the European Optimist Championships in Crozon-Morgat . A total of 293 boats from 50 nations raced in the Bay of Douarnenez. 176 boys and 117 girls competed in this edition which had not been organized by France for more than 30 years. The Greek Dimitrios Bitros and the Italian Federica Contardi won the championship. The Frenchwoman Jeanne Larnicol takes the 3rd e place of the podium and gave us his impressions.

Les Voiles de la Baie (June 29)

The Voiles de la Baie is a 37-mile regatta in Quiberon Bay reserved for sailboats over 6 m. In IRC, Jean-Claude Nicoleau (Codiam) wins the Voiles de la Baie by TBS 2019, in second place we find Jean-Yves Catrou (Barouf) and Sébastien Harinkouck (Amanjiwo) takes the third place.

Sébastien Harinkouck (Amajiwo), winner of the scratch race, completed the course in 3 hrs 59 min 46 s.

Engie Kite Tour La Baule (June 28-30)

This Friday, June 28 began in La Baule the 2nd stage of the Engie Kite Tour 2019, a reference circuit of kiteboarding. Forty-eight women and men were registered on the three possible supports: kitefoil, directional board and twin-tip.

The show was there and 17 races were launched, including 13 in kitefoil, category in which Axel Mazella won. In the two other categories, the riders were able to compete in two races. The victory went to Simon Leprevost in twin-tip and Christophe Ballois in directional board.

The SNSM Mile (June 28)

Nearly 200 paddlers, including many volunteer rescuers from all over France, took part in the MILLE SNSM Paddle Trophy this Friday, June 28. This year will be marked by the final tribute to the three rescuers who died in the capsizing of the boat SNS 061 of Sables-d'Olonne. At 3 pm, everyone respected a minute of silence in memory of the deceased.

The Solitaire URGO Le Figaro (June 26-30)

This particularly difficult edition of the Solitaire Urgo Le Figaro ended on June 26, 2019 with the yoann Richomme's overall victory (Hellowork-Telegram Group).
