Special Edition / Hot water + outboard motor, an equation now possible with Wallas

Distributed in France by ATMB Marine (exclusive distributor), the Wallas Viking Combi boiler has two functions: it heats the cabin atmosphere (heating) and also heats water for domestic use (water heater). A model that fills a void for boats equipped with outboard motors.

How to heat a hot water tank when your boat is equipped with an outboard? Indeed, the hot water tanks are either connected to the 220 V network (but it is then necessary to be at the dock or to regularly run a generator) or the cooling circuit of the engine is used to heat the hot water tank.

The latter solution is the most commonly used on boats. This "free" energy from the cooling system is ideal for heating water. Except that this system only works on the cooling circuits of inboard engines, not on outboards!

A combined boiler-water heater

To overcome this problem, the heating manufacturer Wallas has launched a product that combines both the heating function of the cabin and that of heating the hot water tank. All Wallas boilers have diesel burners that heat air and then pulse it into the cabins using a fan (this is forced air). The Wallas Viking Combi also allows you to heat a water circuit.

A jewel of technology

Very quiet (it works with fans identical to those of computers), the Wallas boiler is easy to live with. The power consumption is low (from 950 W to 2500 W maximum), it works even with a very low electrical voltage (min. 9.6 V). You don't need a big battery park to have it on board. The water heater is designed for a hot water tank with a maximum capacity of 25 litres.

The boiler, made of anodized aluminium and stainless steel for greater strength, delivers its power according to demand. It can be adapted to heat only the water or to deliver all the power for cabin heating.

A wireless connection system

With its integrated Bluetooth module, it is possible to control the boiler remotely from any cabin on the boat, just by using a mobile phone on which the free Wallas application has previously been downloaded. The thermostat is also connected via Bluetooth. The absence of wire makes it easy to install on the boat.

A simple installation

Guaranteed for 3 years, Wallas products are renowned for their solidity and ease of installation. The boiler is delivered with a complete connection kit in which it is only necessary to connect plugs. Everything is perfectly documented. A good handyman can do the installation himself without going through a professional.

Ideal for outboard boats

The Wallas Viking Combi boiler is perfectly suited to this new generation of motorboat, which is increasingly fond of outboard propulsion. We can imagine him on a 10 m helmsman or on a day cruiser of the same size.
