Sixty drawings to humorously sketch life by the sea, that's what this book full of light and colors offers. The cartoonist François Ravard sketches here scenes of life often lived and treats them with a touch of sensitive and always spicy humour.
Presented in 4 chapters, each corresponding to a season, these boards take us along the Breton coasts. Under the sun or in the rain, the characters are reminiscent of those of Sempé: small in a large landscape and yet central to the image. On the left page, the title of each of the drawings gives us a second, often cruel, reading.
François Ravard, comic strip artist, presents here a touching and funny portrait of Brittany in all seasons. Nobody is forgotten, neither the colors, nor the landscapes, nor the occupants, each one takes for his rank for the greatest pleasure of the reader.
