The Porquerolles Classique is a regatta created to celebrate the centenary of Moonbeam III, a 30-metre unit launched in 1903 by the famous Scottish shipyard Fife. Organized by the Yacht Club of Porquerolles (83), this gathering is included in the official calendar of the AFYT, the French Association of Traditional Yachts, which brings together owners of traditional yachts who work to preserve them.
More than a regatta, it is a real nautical event. At the first edition, 16 years ago, there were only 11 boats registered. Today, it welcomes around forty of the most beautiful classic boats in the Mediterranean.
Classified in three categories - Marconi Period, Auric Period, Marconi Classic -, the historical riggings present will compete in several races each day. The regattas will take place in the roadstead of Hyères with return to the port of Porquerolles in the evening. Who will succeed last year's winners? Ikra 12M JI of 1964 (Marconi Classic Group), Skylark of 1937 (Marconi Period Group) and Olympian P Class of 1913 (Auric Period Group)? Answer from 7 to 10 June 2018.
