In the wake of the drones, François Levalet is wandering around the Chausey Islands archipelago with a kite! He fixes his camera underneath and brings back a harvest of often surprising images.

With the help of the Normandy publisher Orep, he has just published a collection of photos of these islands whose landscape changes with each tide. Nearly 300 pages (with very little text and a double translation in French and English) to walk in pictures in this magical place. The landscape format (horizontal) is well adapted for landscapes. The double-page photos are particularly well served. One can only reproach a slightly too small size of the book which does not let the images express themselves fully.

If men and work are rather little represented (or from so far away that you have to guess), the landscapes described all make you want to go and walk your keel over these pebbles or sandbanks.

Finally, the few pictures at the end of the book that illustrate Granville and Saint-Malo (ports of embarkation to the islands) shake the reader a bit. The reader, immersed in the natural heart of the pebbles of the islands, is disturbed to return to civilization in this way.

Lovers of this archipelago will be happy to spot the details of "their" islands. For the others, all those who have not had the chance to walk the shore, this book gives a nice overview of the potential of the place.
