In a varnish, the final rendering comes from its depth. It is therefore necessary to apply many successive coats to obtain a professional result. Did you know that on some Rivas, the job site can have up to 14 coats of varnish?
An easy to apply varnish
With Coltech TransElast, you don't need so many layers. It is easy to apply and comfortable to use, and it surprises you from the very first brushstrokes. This single-component varnish (without mixing before use) is very fast to build up thickness. 2 coats of TransElast correspond to 6 coats of a conventional varnish. What a time saver!
Great flexibility
TransElast is a transparent polyurethane varnish. It will therefore age better than an acrylic varnish and will not whiten on the surface. But its elasticity is its greatest strength because it will not crack or crack on solid woods which, with variations in temperature and humidity, deform as they swell or shrink.

A varnish that lets the wood breathe
As it dries, TransElast varnish creates a film that acts as a water barrier. However, it allows water vapour to pass through, allowing the wood it covers to breathe. This ensures that no black stains are created, a sign of trapped moisture.

Matt or glossy
This varnish can be available at your retailer in 0.75l or 5l packaging. It is available in matt or glossy. The matt finish can also be used for stairs, coffee tables to be varnished, wood sculptures... You will see on the photo below the result of a matt finish coat overlaying 2 gloss coats.
