Technohull T688, versatility and sportiness for the smallest model in the range

T688, the smallest model in the Technohull range

The Greek shipyard Technohull declines its range of RIBs from below by launching its smallest model, the T688, a 7.2 m RIB with 2 engines of 250 HP max (2 or 4 strokes). Versatile, it retains the sporty (50 knots announced) and comfortable side of its elders, but in a more classic and simple version. Designed for day trips, it will also be the perfect tender for superyachts.

Technohull - a Greek shipyard launched in 2005 - offers a range of 4 comfortable, sporty and well-finished semi-rigids, from 9.05 m to 13.80 m. In this month of March 2018, a newcomer is entering the range, the T688, 7.2 m long, which follows the deck layout of its predecessor, the T909. Like the other models, this little brother is a versatile boat, designed for day sailing, but can also be used as a superyacht tender. With a rather simple and classic deck layout, the T688 nevertheless retains the notion of comfort inherent to the yard. The quality that the yard insists on is also felt on this model, with, in particular, 1670 decitex neoprene hypalon sails or a stepped V-shaped hull built mainly in carbon fibre.

The centre console, which has plenty of storage space and a sporty, modern T-top (optional), accommodates two shock-absorbing seats whose seats fold out completely for standing upright driving. A fixed seat is installed at the front of the console, while a straight bench seat for 3 people is located at the rear of the cockpit. The forward cockpit is equipped with a sunbathing area for two people to lie down and a platform for easy disembarkation forward. Access to the bathing platforms framing the engine is gained by walking on the polyester moulding on the back of the backrest, where storage lockers are also located. Nevertheless, the stability and adhesion of the structure will have to be checked.

The T688 has a V-shaped hull and can be fitted with several propulsion options. The owner has the choice of a 4-stroke outboard from 150 to 200 HP and a 2-stroke from 150 to 250 HP. The shipyard announces a top speed of more than 50 knots. The shipyard has also worked on consumption with a limited fuel consumption (and announced by Technohull) of only 0.8 L/mn.
