When taking a photo, it is important to retouch it, even essential. Attention, by retouching we mean optimizations to improve the rendering of the photo and not to transform it.

Should we edit his photos?

Digital photos are systematically retouched. Editing does not mean transforming an image, but optimizing a file. It is therefore more appropriate to use the word"optimisation" rather than"retouching". The difference between a raw file leaving the device and an optimized file is day and night.

By optimization we mean everything that includes contrasts, brightness, saturation to make a picture a little more punchy. It depends on the sensitivity and tastes of each and every photographer. That's how we're gonna present our picture.

You can still edit these optimized files, add or remove elements. This is called photo retouching.

Today, thanks to digital photography, photographers can distinguish themselves as much by their framing as by file optimization. This was not the case before digital, it was much more complicated and more personal. It was necessary to make a choice of light, of moment, which made that the rendering was particular. That was the photographer's personal touch

Color or black and white?

It is a choice that depends on the effect you want to give to your photo and that will give two very different approaches. It is also a story of taste and therefore very personal. Photography remains an artistic field even if today everyone does it. It is a means of expression and everyone sees things differently.

From a technical point of view, the black and white photo makes it possible to put forward the perspectives.
