This year was again rich in publications of all kinds: boat presentations, technical articles, presentations of sea books or zoom on the many races that marked the year... But which are the 10 articles that marked you the most in 2017? Here is the top 10 most read articles on our news site.

Goodbye 2017! Make way for 2018! A new year is starting for the whole Bateaux.com team and it's the opportunity for us to take stock of the articles that made the biggest impression on you in 2017. Sailing, motor, racing, equipment, nautical culture... Which topics made you want to read our articles assiduously? Here are the top 10 most-read articles from January 1, 2017 to December 31 of the same year.

This melting pot reflects well the articles we publish on our website dedicated to sea lovers with a preference for incredible boats (Sailing Yacht A, Dilbar or the Mini 6.50 of SEAir) or catastrophic events such as the Zeus storm or the fire of the Bas-Sablons harbor in Saint-Malo.

Our favourite subjects are the calendar of major sailing races and boat shows of the year (which we are currently preparing for the year 2018) which are always consulted as much, but which we decided to remove from our ranking being no longer current. Or our April fool's joke about the tax imposed on habitable vessels by the government that had triggered more than one comment...

After the motoryacht A, the businessman and billionaire Andrei Melnichenko will take possession of his sailing yacht A. With a length of 142.81 m, it is one of the largest sailing yachts in the world and has many innovations.

2. Exclusive: Zeus storm, call me hurricane

Spectacular photos of Zeus in the ports of the Crozon peninsula. The storm crossed France in March 2017 and did a lot of damage in Brittany, and particularly in Finistère with a peak of 193 km/h in Camaret, an absolute wind record for this coastal town.

Last night, about twenty boats caught fire, in the Bas-Sablons harbor in the Saint-Servan district of Saint-Malo (35). A boater noticed this Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 5:30 am, that a boat had caught fire. He then immediately alerted the harbor master's office, which in turn alerted the fire department.

8. Renovation of Calypso : a work in progress !

Calypso arrived in April 2016 in Turkey to be renovated. A colossal work considering the state of disrepair in which she was since 2009. Since then, the work has progressed well and all the frames of the former minesweeper have been renovated.

Thomas Coville will tackle the solo round the world race in multihull mode with the Ultim' collective in 2019. For this new challenge, the skipper and his famous Sponsor, will build a new giant trimaran! More information in spring 2017...

10. The Dilbar, the incredible (and largest) superyacht of 2017!

The World Superyacht Awards annually recognize the "best" yachts of the past year. In 2017, it was the motoryacht Dilbar, a 156-meter-long yacht and considered the largest yacht in the world in terms of gross tonnage.
