With the Se77antasette, Benetti aims for luxury yachting

Benetti's Se77antasette

In collaboration with urban architect Fernando Romero, Benetti designed a 77 m long superyacht with rounded, flowing lines giving it a futuristic and luxurious design. On board, the equipment and technology enable the Italian shipyard to aim for luxury yachting. Take a picture tour of the Se77antasette with its exploration room, its Spa deck and its numerous windows with sea view.

A futuristic and luxurious concept

Se77antasette is a 77 m long superyacht concept designed by the Mexican designer Fernando Romero for Benetti, who has been responsible for many architectural projects around the world such as La Casa da Música (theater in the city of Porto, Portugal). Its structure is composed of fluid lines and rather rounded, unlike the rectilinear superstructures in force, which are inspired by the marine habitat. The bridges appear connected and intertwined, covered by a glass dome as a roof.

Apart from a different architectural design, the 253-foot superyacht also has an innovative navigation and propulsion system. For example, the radar equipment, usually visible from the top of the yacht, is here fully integrated into the superstructure and therefore invisible. Benetti engineers have pooled their skills with those of aerospace and marine engineers to design a new way of integrating the radar in a glass dome, without compromising control of the boat or the safety of the owner and his guests.

For propulsion, the Italian shipyard opted for 5 Caterpillar variable speed generators that allow the use of all the available power of the diesel engine, without speed limits, all in a reduced space. With this configuration, it is possible to keep the entire engine room on a single level, below the lower deck, and to dedicate the entire lower deck to accommodation. The Se77antasette will have a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,000 miles at 12 knots and can accommodate up to 12 passengers on board and 19 crew members in a dedicated space on the lower deck.

A project that "the major difficulty was to make an already excellent product even better. While the shipyard's identity is universally recognised for its luxury boats, the Se77antasette takes yachting to a higher dimension and reveals it as something we have never seen before, relying on Romero's skill and Benetti's know-how" explains Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Benetti.

A lower deck open to the outside

Se77antasette has large spaces adaptable to the needs of life on board. Thus, at the stern, the deck has three complete openings (two lateral in the superstructure and one on the transom which becomes a large terrace on the sea. Inside, the area is dedicated to relaxation with a spa, or can be transformed into a gym and hosts a large swimming pool. The deck can either open or remain closed to be an intimate area. Space has also been provided for working with a reserved area with a 270 degree view of the sea, where the owner can organize events, presentations or private meetings.

Adaptable spaces

The central area of the ship has a double height at the heart of the ship and creates a visual link between each deck. Depending on its use, the saloon can be completely transformed into an open dining room for family meals, a projection room, a theatre or a dance floor with a disco ball strobe in the middle and a DJ station to party with friends.

Comfort as a central element

The main suite is located on the front of the main deck and consists of a 100 m2 apartment, plus 140 m2 of private outdoor space. There is a high-tech office to stay connected from anywhere in the world, a custom-made wooden bed located in the centre of the room, with sofas on each side and a dressing room. The large marble bathroom offers a sea view with private shower room and toilet.

The front terrace is furnished with sofas and even has a private swimming pool 1.5 metres deep, which turns into a helicopter runway.

The two VIP cabins and four guest cabins are on the lower deck. The first two, with walk-in wardrobe and bathroom, have full height sliding glass windows that give access to the private terrace. On the other side, the guest accommodation is located in the centre of the ship and always enjoys a beautiful sea view.

An incredible glass observatory

But the most incredible place is the observatory on the upper deck, an intimate and hidden space to enjoy the starry sky. It is made from 8.5 m long glass slabs whose uprights are equipped with air-conditioning ducts to maintain the right temperature and control humidity. At night, the dome can also be used as an augmented reality screen controlled by voice commands and motion sensors to control the boat from the upper deck.
