A complete follow-up of François Gabart's attempt on Macif

Whilst François Gabart on the Trimaran Macif is trying to beat the solo round the world record, France TV has set up a system to follow him quite effectively. Find out more about this ongoing exploit.

France Télévision set up a big operation behind François Gabart's solo round-the-world record attempt. Indeed, the teams have created a special web page with a news feed solely on this record.

Relaying information in all its forms (data, videos, supports...) but especially making various video portraits throughout the race.

Via the "info feed", there is a point on the trimaran's position, but also interviews with people, known or not, who encourage the sailor. Of course, the videos broadcast from the skipper's boat are also relayed.

With the media power of France TV, the follow-up becomes interesting through the interviews carried out throughout the progress of the MACIF trimaran. Jean-Yves Bernot, the router, is often called upon to explain François Gabart's trajectories as well as to make a technical point. But behind the camera we also find Macif's technical team, who tell us a few secrets about the organisation aboard the trimaran (food, maintenance...).

On the France TV website, we appreciate the presentation in the form of a time line where the news are published as the boat progresses, with the schedule clearly marked.

Even if we can reproach the voluntarily general public access and the inaccuracies that can be read there (obviously the editors are not sailors!), this page will remain in our favour for the duration of this attempt, which we hope will last less than 49 days for the skipper (time of the previous record held by Thomas Coville).
