Navily, an application to rate ports

The network of good anchorages shared by Navily is back this year with a new feature which should appeal to yachtsmen: it now integrates a rating of the ports. A good reception? The quality of the port of call? Express yourself to help other users.

Navily the application to share good plans

A look back at the history of Navily. In 2014, this free application offers its members to geolocate anchorages by indicating for each one if it is well protected, the type of bottom to anchor, photos and comments. Today, there are some 6000 notices on 1000 anchorages available. Mainly Mediterranean, the anchorages are in France, but also in Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece and some exotic places.

In 2015, Navily offered ports an online reservation service. Ports that want to join (it's free) can offer available spaces for visitors. The application manages the reservation. 230 ports are now members of the system (105 in France, 50 in Italy and 62 in Spain).

Navily offers these ports an efficient and secure working tool. It is also a good means of communication with the visibility of the application used by boaters.

Ports rated according to 5 criteria

For 2017, Navily innovates by adding to its port base, all ports in France, Italy and Spain, that is to say all ports even those who are not members. From now on, the application gives boaters the possibility to rate them. With a rating from 1 to 5 stars, boaters can evaluate 5 criteria:

  • The reception of the yachtsman, such as assistance in mooring the boat or the information given by the harbour master's office to passing yachtsmen.
  • The cleanliness of the harbor and facilities, such as the showers, is a regular topic of discussion among boaters.
  • The rating of the services and facilities available, such as Wi-Fi, water and electricity or bike rental.
  • The proximity of shops. Once on land, the yachtsman has different needs, especially if he has been on the water for several days. This is why the rating of the proximity of shops is available, in order to know if he will be able to find what he needs easily.
  • The tourist attractiveness of the port of call

To improve services in ports

The yachtsman can complete the rating of these 5 criteria with a comment of his choice. The comments are visible from the Navily application. A distinction will be made between reviews left by boaters who have booked and made a stopover through the application and other reviews. Navily guarantees that boaters will choose their future stopovers based on real and proven experiences.

The idea of the application is not to attack the ports, but to help them improve their reception services. Thus, ports will have access to the ratings and will be able to think of ways to improve the services available.
