Positive results for the 2nd edition of the Normandy Cup. The tenors of the Diam 24 OD provided the show, while sportboats and living spaces also took advantage of the regattas in the Bay of the Seine.

Lorina Limonade's Remontada - Gulf of Morbihan

Despite the difficult weather throughout the 4 days of the Normandy Cup, marked by bright sunshine and often light winds, the Diam 24 OD trimaran class was able to race both in the nautical stadium and in raids. While Beijaflore dominated the ranking in the first few days, Lorina Limonade - Gulf of Morbihan, who had started the race badly, was able to make a nice comeback. The final victory was decided during the nautical stadium on the last day, between 3 of the favourites of the Tour de France à la Voile, SFS, Lorina Limonade - Golfe du Morbihan and Beijaflore.

While this victory is a good omen for the Tour, Quentin Delapierre, skipper of the event, remains cautious. "This Normandy Cup looked complicated because Bruno Mourniac and Corentin Horeau were absent. The 7th place on the first day was a little unsettling. But we stayed together and worked hard to win as many races as possible. This is the first pre-season regatta where we don't start at the top. So we proved that we were able to come back despite a significant delay. Now, we have to stay focused and humble because the competitors are sailing very well. Every year, the Normandy Cup prepares us well for the Tour de France à la Voile thanks to its identical format and complex water surface. But just because we had a great pre-season doesn't mean we're going to win the Tour this summer! I think the level of the fleet is rising, we'll have to show that we know how to raise our level of play."

The girls in the spotlight

In J80, Smart Grid Energy, who had been competing for the top spot with Jaws since the start of the competition, finally won the race by a small point.

Ridden on the First Class 7.50, the club challenge brought together fifteen Norman teams. The 100% female SRH Ladies Normandy crew also won by one point over its pursuers from the Bedanne Leisure Base.

Success of the great race

The great race, appreciated by the riders, saw the victory of the JPK 10.10 Foggy Dew with crew and the Sun Fast 3200 of Alain Férec and René Lair in doubles. Sunday's coastal course, won again by Foggy Dew, confirmed the crewed hierarchy. He therefore won the overall classification. In doubles, the coastal course falls into the hands of the Farr 727 45 South, while the Sun Fast 3200 Barcavela wins the overall classification.
