This year the holidays are with your family by the water? This book "À nous les vacances à la mer" published by Glénat Jeunesse should please the youngest.
This work is difficult to classify. Indeed, it is made up of 3 totally different parts.
A mysterious pirate story
The first 50 pages are a novel starring Hugo, a 12-year-old Parisian boy who discovers the sea during his holidays in Brittany. This curious young man will have a beautiful adventure with discoveries and encounters (wrecks, pirates...). The story is pretty well tied up with some details and descriptions of the environment and people, and a great deal of mystery for the younger ones to catch on to.
Information for documentation
The second part is entitled"All about the sea". It is about explanations on the phenomena which one can cross on our coasts. The sea of course, but also animals, shells or the weather. The practices of the sea with sailing, diving or surfing are also discussed.
The explanations are short (not to be boring) and always illustrated with precision to give a simple and fast access.
Games to relax
The last pages gather games about the sea and its environment. They are classified in 3 difficulties (green, orange and red) so that all can devote themselves to it.
For the youngest as well as the oldest
It is difficult to indicate at which ages this book is intended. Indeed, it will be preferable that the child can read to be interested alone. But the story can also be read by the youngest parents. The illustrations will also be accessible to all. And even adults will benefit by revising certain points.
