Enjoy the seabed from your kayak

Crystal Explorer is a completely transparent canoe developed by The Crystal Kayak Company, an American company. You will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of the depths of the ocean, provided of course that the colour of the water lends itself to it

The Crystal Kayak Company has developed a canoe with a transparent polycarbonate hull, to observe the sea below while sailing. Each kayak weighs 20 kg and is delivered with two benches and two paddles, sent either pre-assembled or to be assembled by oneself (about 45 minutes the first time and 20 minutes with the habit).

The sections can be detached and stacked for easy storage or transportation, but the company advises that this should only be done to store it for a short time. The aluminium frame must first be removed, a process that takes between 5 and 10 minutes and can be tedious in the long run.

Two choices of paddles are available - Basic (2-piece painted aluminum body) or Deluxe (fiberglass body with grooves on the blade).

To prevent the transparent hull (specifically treated against UV rays) from being scratched, simply rinse your kayak in fresh water after each use to clean salt and sand. However, avoid dragging it on the ground and store it in a shady area. Eventually, to reduce scratches, simply purchase a restoration kit.

With your transparent kayak, you will be able to enjoy a superb underwater view, as long as the water is transparent - and navigate as close as possible to marine animals. You'll still have to put a price tag on it, since the Crystal Kayak costs $2,499!

Price: $1,499 on special instead of $2,499
