Taboo, the concept of a polar exploration yacht with ostentatious luxury

Taboo, a polar exploration superyacht concept

Taboo is a 90 m long polar class (Ice-Class) exploration yacht concept presented as revolutionary by its designers, but above all very luxurious. This project was created by the New York studio Gill Schmid Design, in collaboration with Tim Dempers Studio in Cape Town.

Taboo was designed for adventure, in response to the specifications of a thrill-seeking owner who likes to explore the four corners of the globe with family, friends or adventure enthusiasts like himself. This high-class expedition yacht has been specially designed for extreme adventures - polar or tropical - and has the same performance as a commercial vessel, while offering the highest level of luxury for sailing to the most remote corners of the planet.

This Explorer has all the equipment you need to explore the world in any way: airplane, helicopter, submarine, amphibious car, supercar, a full range of luxury tenders and jet-skis or even a hot-air balloon!

Taboo has many unprecedented spaces that can be transformed in just a few minutes from intimate private spaces, isolated from the outside world, into party spaces with extensive indoor and outdoor installations. On board there is a discotheque, an outdoor reception area, two Jacuzzis, a large gym and spa, an impressive reception lounge, a beach club and an outdoor swimming pool, several reception lounges and a summer residence at the stern, which can be used as another relaxation area, VIP quarters or a casino.

The interior too is stunning, with a large lounge/pool area on two floors and a beachclub with an overhead pool on the main and upper decks, framed by aquariums on either side.

"Its monochromatic exterior style distinguishes it from other vessels of its kind. It has sophisticated lines, while maintaining a classic and refined language. White unidirectional glazing is strategically used throughout the vessel, providing panoramic views from the owner and VIP suites to the large open and lounge areas" says the designer.

At the stern, the 90m yacht has a double-height platform to accommodate tenders with an A-shaped frame that tilts to serve as a lift. There is also a helipad with a fully enclosed retractable garage. In addition, the spacious enclosed tenders garages on the lower deck can accommodate boats up to 14 m+. All types of tenders can be stored on board according to the owner's needs.

Taboo will be able to welcome on board more than 26 guests and more than 40 crew members. There is a very spacious owner's suite with private offices, a lounge and private deck space.
